Announcing Directory Update v1.7
We are pleased to announce the release of Directory Update v1.7; this new
release has a few new features that have been requested by our customers as well
as some bug fixes and a few features that we dreamed up on our own.
If you organization support and maintenance agreement is current, you are
eligible for a free upgrade. You will be on a current support agreement if you
have purchased within the last 365 days or if you have extended your support
agreement for an additional period of time via the
Support and Maintenance page. For a limited time, we are offering a discount
for two years of support; you support will be renewed effective on the date that
it expired.
Directory Update v1.7 includes the following new features.
-
The DirectorySetting.XML file has been simplified and
has fewer default options, but valid options can always be entered manually.
This will make this file easier to edit and it will load faster.
-
Telephone numbers can now be included in the Address
Sets feature; phone and fax numbers are entered in to the
AddressSettings.XML file
-
If Address Sets are enabled in the AddressSettiings.XML
file, the control field (such as the office name) no longer has to match the
office drop-down listing in the DirectorySettings.XML file. The drop-down
list will be generated from the list of valid offices in the
AddressSettings.XML file.
-
Any field can be configured as a multi-line fields (3
lines); this can be useful for fields such as the Notes or Description
fields that generally contain more data.
-
Any field can now be a double-wide field; this is
helpful, for example when a company name or office location is wider than
the default we provided in previous versions.
-
Any field can now have data validated via a masked text
formatting field. The mask can include default characters and require the
user type in a specific number of letters or numbers. This is mostly useful
for telephone number fields and is generally not as powerful as using
Regular Expression validation.
-
Photos can now be stored as a URL path rather than
storing the photo as a binary object in the Active Directory.
-
Auditing information can include date/time, user name,
and/or IP address; you control the audit information via the AppSettings.XML
file
-
If you use Active Directory attributes that are not
part of our default list, you can add your attributes to the interface.
